EAGLE SCOUT KIT
Since 2000 the National Jewish Committee on Scouting has offered letters of congratulations and a certificate suitable for framing to Jewish Eagle Scouts and Eagle Scouts of other religious backgrounds. The concept was to acknowledge the Scouts’ hard work in achieving their rank advancement, but also to connote the fact that so few Jewish Scouts achieve the Eagle rank compared to the larger numbers of other major faith groups.
The National Jewish Committee on Scouting asks that requests be made first and foremost by utilizing the Eagle Scout kit application links listed below as both a Word document (with fields that can easily be filled in and saved) and an Adobe portable document file that can be downloaded and printed out.
Once the Eagle Scout kit application has been filled in or scanned, it may be sent as an attachment via email to Jeanne Tillman at the National Jewish Committee on Scouting office of the Community Alliance Division. Please note the synagogue/temple affiliation of each Scout and, when applicable, any Jewish religious emblems previously earned.
Eagle Scout kit applications may also be sent by fax to 972-580-2535 (Attention: Jeanne Tillman).
Eagle Scout kit applications may also be sent via regular United States mail to: NJCOS, Community Alliances S211, P.O. Box 152079, Irving, TX 75015-2079. All requests will be honored, but we ask that all pertinent information contained in the Eagle Scout kit application be included in any private correspondence. These include the name, address and phone number of the Scout, his unit number, chartering organization, council name, date of Eagle Scout Court of Honor (or date of Eagle Scout Board of Review), description of Eagle Scout project, synagogue or temple affiliation and any Jewish religious emblems previously earned. The name, address and phone number of the requesting party is also requested as is the address to where the Eagle Scout kit should be mailed.
