EARN THE "HEBREW INTERPRETER" AWARD

Youth and Adult members (Cub and Webelos Scouts, Boy and Varsity Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts, plus Scouters in all programs) may wear this strip if they show their knowledge of a foreign language or the sign language for the hearing impaired by:

Carrying on a 5-minute conversation in this language.
Translating a 2-minute speech or address.
Writing a letter in the language (Does not apply for sign language)
Translating 200 words or more from the written word.

Source: 2007 Boy Scout Requirements (33215)

The strip is available from your local Scout Shop or you may purchase it online.

A photograph is being taken and it will soon be added to the ScoutStuff.org web site on the page with all of the other Interpreter Strips. The new “official” Hebrew Interpreter Strip will cost $1.59.

In the interim, you may order the Hebrew Interpreter Strip by calling the National Supply Service at 1-800-323-0736, or your local Scout Shop, and ordering "Hebrew Interpreter Strip, Item #18039."

The interpreter strips are worn centered above the "Boy Scouts of America" strip on the uniform.
