ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS

San Francisco, CA -- Ryan DiBernardo, Director of Field Service & Chief Operating Officer of the San Francisco Bay Area Council has announced the appointment of Ken Katzman as the Chair of the Council's Jewish Committee on Scouting.

Las Vegas, NV -- Phil Bevins, Scout Executive for the Las Vegas Area Council has appointed David Wolin as the new Chair of the Council's Jewish Committee on Scouting. He succeeds Joel Levin who will remain active on the committee as the Vice Chair. The committee hosted their first Kinus in many years on October 16-18. The event, with nearly 75 Scouts and Scouters in attendance, was held at Camp Foxtail on Mt. Charleston. It was the first kinus to be held outside of Los Angeles in at least 10 years! On January 31, the committee will hold a Tu B'Shevat celebration (Jewish Arbor Day) at the Springs Preserve Garden Amphitheater.

Henderson, NV -- Major David Sellen, Scoutmaster of Midbar Kodesh Temple's Troop 713, has been honored with the Shofar Award of the National Jewish Committee on Scouting.
