NJCOS issues statement on Pittsburgh shooting
The National Jewish Committee on Scouting mourns the loss of life in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in American history. We pledge to redouble our efforts in the mission we have pursued for over 90 years: teaching young Jews the beauty of American democracy, a principled embrace of diversity, fealty to religious duty, and genuine, loving respect for the religious beliefs and practices of others.
We acknowledge with gratitude the support that the Jewish community has received during this tragic event and call on everyone of goodwill to join us in recognizing, respecting and supporting the dignity and humanity of all people.
May God bless and keep all who mourn… May God turn His countenance toward us all and grant us peace.
