NJCOS logoShavuot is called the Festival of Weeks and occurs 50 days after the Counting of the Omer begins. This Jewish holiday occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan. In the Bible, Shavuot marked the wheat harvest in the Land of Israel. Today, it commemorates the giving of the Law on Mt. Sinai.
