Alan Grossman

Alan Grossman, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 after a brief illness. Alan, 65, a longtime Jewish Committee Chair from Patriot’s Path Council in New Jersey and a major leader in the Northeast Region. He also served as the Northeast Region Chair for the NJCOS, CST 13 Fund Development Lead, and a member of the National Finance & Fund Development Committee. Alan was awarded the Silver Antelope from CST 13 this year, but was unable to make it to the national annual meeting in Dallas to accept his award.

Part of three generations of Eagle Scouts, Alan was the son of an Eagle Scout, Stan, and the proud father of an Eagle Scout son. Having his father at his son’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor was among his most treasured of moments. He also treasured having all three generations together to visit the World Jamboree at the Summit in 2019.

A dedicated fund raising professional, Alan generously provided his time and talents to Scouting America growing local council finances.  Alan was also active in his community serving as a Councilman and planning board member for Metuchen, New Jersey.

Alan lived his life by the Scout Oath and Law and he will be sorely missed. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but they will be listed on the National Jewish Committee on Scouting website as soon as we have that information. Observing the great tradition of tzedakah, we would encourage everyone to contribute in his memory as soon as the family makes suggestions.

Baruch Dayan Ha’emet. May the memory of Alan Grossman forever be a blessing, you will be missed.
