I wanted to make you aware of several upcoming events for Jewish Scouts and Scouters.
Jewish Scout Conclave – December 23-25, 2025 at Camp Alpine in NJ – A gathering for Scouting advancement, fun, and fellowship, while living and learning in a traditional Jewish environment.
Kosher Klondike Derby – February 13-16, 2026 in New Bloomfield, NJ – A weekend for Scouts to show basic scout skills in a fun, energized, competitive atmosphere in a Shabbat Observant, Kosher environment.
Northeast Region Jewish Committee on Scouting Annual Conference – March 15, 2026 at Ten Mile River Scout Camp in NY – A day of training, networking, and camaraderie for Jewish Scout Leaders and members of the Jewish Committee on Scouting. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Ricky Mason, Chair-elect of the Scouting America Board of Directors.
2026 National Jamboree – July 19-21, 2026 at the Summit in WV – There’s still time to register and be part of the Shomer Shabbat Contingent for the National Jamboree. Please note that only a few spaces are still available so don’t delay in registering. We are also looking for youth to serve as staff at the National Jamboree at half the normal cost for them.
B’Yachad Camporee – August 9-12, 2026 at Ten Mile River Scout Camp in NY – First of its Kind! Join us for the Great Jewish Camporee: Four days of camping with Jewish Scouts from across the country. Enjoy access to all of the standard summer camp activities plus kosher meals, Jewish-Themed events and activities, Jewish Emblem and Award classes, Gala Campfires and more.
Also, there will be Scout Shabbat Services throughout the country in the January-March 2026 time frame. If there isn’t one near you, please contact me regarding on that you can join via Zoom. If you are having a Scout Shabbat, please let me know the details and we will post it on the website. The order form for 2026 Scout Shabbat patches is attached — it is a special patch honoring the 100th Anniversary of the National Jewish Committee on Scouting.
I hope you and your Scouts avail yourself to some of these wonderful opportunities.
I wish you and your family a very Happy Hanukkah! May the light of the Hanukkah candles brighten your home, fill your heart with joy, and inspire acts of kindness and faith.
Happy Hanukkah,
Rich Lieber
